The joint project “Multiarray image processing system for inline quality assurance of industrial assemblies (MultiSys)” addresses complex issues in industrial production, which are to be solved through the use of networked image processing systems in array structures at board level.
In particular, a highly integrated image processing chain, which can simultaneously collect data from up to 30 individual image sensors, is intended to achieve considerable time savings for inspection tasks in industrial production. At the same time, the scanning quality increases and the time-consuming adjustment and calibration procedures currently required for scanning axis systems are eliminated, as is the associated maintenance.
The aim is to capture 200 megapixels per second and process them completely in a cycle time of less than five seconds. Through model-based image field equalization and sensor corrections, an area of up to 450 mm² with a resolution of up to 30 µm is to be developed for industrial inspection tasks.
